Purpose:

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of our manufacturing plant & site. This includes managing a team of trade persons, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key performance indicators:

Supervise a team of technicians and allocate work assignments based on priority and skill level. 

Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal functioning of machinery and equipment. 

Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly. 

Manage the repair and maintenance expenses, ensuring cost-effective strategies are in place. 

Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory. 

Train and mentor technicians on maintenance best practices and safety procedures. 

Oversee the implementation of health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Responsibility as the Site’s the GMR2 

Collaborate with other department managers to optimize operational efficiency and productivity.

Presentation, planning and execution of CAPEX projects.

Supervise Apprenticeship program.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role (Trade: Fitter & Turner/Millwright) 

At least 5 years related work experience in similar roles. 

Experience in toolroom and maintenance environments (CNC machine setting, Conventional machine setting, tool changes as well as attending to breakdowns and maintenance in the foundry) 

In-depth knowledge of maintenance principles and techniques.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 

High level of technical expertise in various maintenance areas (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing). 

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. 

Strong organizational and time management skills. 

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 

Flexibility to work on-call or overtime when necessary
