Industry: Service Transport
This position is in the Technical Department of the Transport company. The position will report to the Contract Manager.
A minimum of Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Artisan trade qualification will be considered) or Mechanical Engineering Degree.
Advanced computer literacy
5 - 8 Years working experience in heavy duty vehicle maintenance.
3 Years Management experience
N4 Engineering field qualification will be strong advantage.
Proven track record in vehicle fleet management.
Sound knowledge of Tyre management systems.
Assist in managing technical budget.
Oversee maintenance of vehicle fleet.
Manage maintenance facilities, tools and equipment.
Manage Engineering administration functions.
Supervise workshop personnel and identify development needs.
On job training subordinates.
Ensure that the Occupational Health & Safety Act Regulations are adhere to in the workshop.
Liase with Manufactures and Suppliers to ensure optimal service delivery.
Technical Engineering practices and procedures
Understanding bus operations.
Key financial management principles and procedures, especially budgets.
Human resource practices and procedures
Occupational Health & Safey Act.
Willingness to work long hours when necessary.
